Diabetes & Obesity

Diabetes is a disease that affects your body’s ability to produce or use insulin. Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose, either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin or both. When someone has diabetes, their body can’t maintain healthy levels of glucose in the blood. Glucose is a form of sugar which is the main source of energy for our bodies. Instead of being turned into energy the glucose stays in the blood resulting in high blood glucose levels.

Obesity is a condition where a person has accumulated so much body fat that it might have a negative effect on their health. Obesity means having too much body fat. It is different from being overweight, which means weighing too much. The weight may come from muscle, bone, fat, and/or body water. Both terms mean that a person's weight is greater than what's considered healthy for his or her height. Obesity occurs over time when you eat more calories than you use. The balance between calories-in and calories-out differs for each person. Factors that might affect your weight include your genetic makeup, overeating, eating high-fat foods, and not being physically active. ‘Conference series LLC Ltd  teams with CED, a Joint Accreditation Provider, as Joint Providers of CME Credits for the Cardiology Meetings consisting of physicians, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, scientists, professors and young researchers
